*Systems analysis has its roots in early management studies carried out in the 1920's and 30's that gave rise to management tools such as Work Study, also known as Time and Motion Study. Systems analysis has become the umbrella term for all means of studying the ways in which systems work. As such it can be applied to ANY kind of system. Systems analysis pre-dates computers as we know them today by many years. It can be applied to much more wide ranging applications than just IT systems.
